Two Brothers Try Their Hitch on the NFL

By Gabe Jackson

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., Feb. 18 /AP/ -- Brothers and Entrepreneurs, John and Tim Moore of Pennsylvania, are the inventors of the QuickHitch MouthGuard. Since its inception, the goal was to provide a solution to the standard issue mouth guard problem that professional and amateur athletes have dealt with for years. When removed, the mouth guards always end up planted in a sweaty palm, in a sock or the side of their mask for that quick word with a coach. The tethered mouth guard would seem to be a solution but many athletes dislike them because when tackled the mouth guard pulls on their teeth.

QuickHitch MouthGuard, LLC came up with a solution that professional and amateur athletes are applauding. "Our mouth guards provide a quick hitching device on the end of your standard mouth piece that allows the player to quickly detach and apply it to any football facemask. For sports that don’t require a helmet, it can attach to a shirt collar. The mouth guards can be used for any sport such as, lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, the list goes on," said John and Tim Moore.

The Moore brothers brought their game-changing device to the 10th annual Player Networking Event™ (PNE) event in Miami, Florida for Super Bowl weekend. They captivated the audience at the PNE event their revolutionary mouth guard. One could hear all the athletes, sports agents and executives saying, "where can I get my hands on one of these?"

The Player Networking Event™, created by Troupe21 & Associates, helps active and former NFL players with their transition from football. Each year active and former players attend the PNE to network with business executives and corporations. Working collaboratively with the NFL and its member clubs, their goal is to help players explore and identify post-football opportunities that are realistic and meaningful. Approximately 13,000 former players are part of the NFLPA (NFL Player’s Association - the players union) and NFL Alumni clubs.

Former Philadelphia Eagles/Cleveland Browns Strong Safety, Ray Ellis, now sports channel director of Voice America Sports Radio saw the mouth guard. He immediately stated, "from a sanitary and safety standpoint, its light years ahead of anything I’ve seen out there. A great improvement on what guys are using out there in today’s game." Taber Small, Professional Football Consultant at Perennial Sports, and NFL prospect Thad Turner, CB University of Ohio, witnessed the QuickHitch in action and exclaimed, "where can I get my hands on one of these?"

John and Tim Moore came up with the mouth guard idea when they watched a star player fighting to position his mouthpiece to grab a swig of water and have a few words with his coach. The brothers described this experience as; "this young guy fumbled around with his mouth piece for about five or ten seconds until he resorted to shoving it in the side of his helmet, where it could gather all the spit and sweat it could handle. He had a word with the coach, shoved it back in his mouth and got back in the game." Now they have the perfect solution for all those mouth guard using athletes!

QuickHitch MouthGuard: Helping Athletes Keep It Clean

QuickHitch MouthGuard, LLC today announced that their new flagship mouthguard is available to the sports-playing public via their web site and Amazon.com

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., Aug. 25, 2009 /PRNewswire/ -- The QuickHitch MouthGuard is a simple yet revolutionary enhancement to the "strapless" mouthguard that has been used by athletes for generations.

Two entrepreneurs from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, former high school and college football players themselves, watched many football games over the years where players pulled a strapless mouthguard from their mouths and tried several times before finally getting it jammed into a sometimes dirty spot on their facemask. The thought occurred: Why doesn't one of the mouthguard manufacturers make a strapless mouthguard with a small hook or hitch on the front? The player would be able to hang it quickly, easily and keep it clean.

A new product was born and a patent was filed. An experienced mouthguard manufacturer was found in Colorado to create the QuickHitch MouthGuard. QuickHitch MouthGuard, LLC was formed to distribute the mouthguard and in the fall of 2009, athletes across the US have begun using it.

Tim Moore, a partner in the QuickHitch firm, stated, "This new mouthguard can be used in just about any sport where athletes currently use a strapless mouthguard, although football is probably the target sport. It is as functional as any other strapless mouthguard, but the player will have a quick and easy option to hang the mouthguard in a convenient spot. This certainly leads to a more sanitary mouthguard. It is exciting that we are bringing this patent-pending design to market."
